Description of the Course with”International work/aid”
This Education gives totally 2500 points (one point is one hour), 300 of these points are from aid work ----. These points are divided into two courses; international relations, aid and development.

If you choose this course you will get knowledge about the co-operation between industrial- and developing countries, the UN-role in the work of peace and security, about war and conflicts, what causes them and the significance of the war for the countries’ development, power balance and access to resources.

You also get deepened knowledge about democracy, human rights, knowledge about the work of aid in Sweden and other countries and knowledge about other cultures and culture manifestations. The fight against poverty, trafficking, child labour, the fight against aids, apartheid and the climatic change are other issues dealt with during the education.

During your first year you will attend to what we call “the Stockholm week”. There you will visit several aid organizations, attend to lectures, an African evening, and a whole lot of other activities to increase your knowledge about aid work and other cultures.

The third year you will make an obligatory foreign practice for 2-3 weeks. The world situation will decide where to put your practice. However our aim is that the practice will be done in Europe, except for the Scandinavian countries. Other trips may arise during the educational period.
